KathaYudh is a fresh and dynamic take on Kathak competitions, designed to nurture a positive and healthy competitive spirit among young dancers. This is not just a competition—it is a celebration of Kathak, where dancers of all generations and levels come together to showcase their skill, creativity, and dedication to the art. We invite you to step onto this exhilarating stage, embracing the joy of performing and honoring the wisdom passed down by our respected Gurus.

The 'Yudh' is an exciting challenge, structured across multiple rounds, each bringing its own unique twist—on-stage improvisation, interactive artist sessions, choreography based on live prompts from judges, and much more. KathaYudh is a true test of a dancer’s knowledge and artistry. And as we always say—if Kathak runs in your blood, KathaYudh will be a cakewalk!

Competition Structure

- Beginner Level (Under 3 years of training)

- Intermediate Level (4 to 6 years of training)

- Advanced Level (7 to 10 years of training)

- Proficiency Level (10 to 15 years of training)

- The Semi-Classical Competition – Open to all ages

In this category dancers perform classical dance infused with other styles, songs, and themes. It is designed to encourage openness and innovation, allowing artists to explore and expand their creative expression within the festival.

Audience & Accompanist Guidelines

- All audience members, including parents and friends, must purchase an audience pass to attend the event.

- Accompanists (gurus, parents, guardians, makeup artists, helping students etc.) may access the green rooms/changing rooms without a pass but will not be permitted to enter the event space without one.

- Children below the age of 5 do not require an audience pass.
