join us as we unravel
the kathak of today
The Youth Kathak Festival unites a dynamic cohort of young and talented artists who’ve come together to curate a one of a kind festival that bridges the gap between the new generation, and our age old Classical art by infusing it with revolutionary themes and modern perspectives. The Youth Kathak Festival stands as a safe space for artists who can talk freely about need of the hour topics, innovate and experiment with their art.
Rooted in the grammar and technique passed down by our gurus, we aim to give young artists exposure without any bias, stigma and based purely on merit. TYKF stands as a movement that honors tradition, embraces innovation, and builds the future of classical dance through the voices of its youth. We have launched our own classical dance competition (and the first ever) ‘KathaYudh: A Kathakar’s Battleground’, designed in the battle format popular in hip-hop and other contemporary dance styles, as well as our much celebrated format ‘Emerging Artists’ which gives young dancers a chance to perform in our festivals.
In addition, we collaborate with renowned artists for productions, host flea markets to showcase craftsmanship, support youth entrepreneurship, and promote art-related products. TYKF serves as a one-stop community for dancers to network with like-minded artists, collaborate on projects, and grow within the field of classical performing arts.
